Mozambique: DA wants troop details

The DA on Sunday called on President Cyril Ramaphosa to provide parliament with full details of the deployment of troops to Mozambique. The DA’s Kobus Marais said troops had been deployed to Mozambique last week, but parliament had yet to be informed, preventing it from conducting its oversight duties. By contrast, parliament had been timeously informed when the government deployed troops to help stabilise the situation in KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng, he said. The presidency was not immediately available to comment.
